To me, writing music is a continous process of searching for an adequate representation of a musical idea. It is very important for me to communicate with performing artists, as this allows me to gain new insights as well as enrich my sense for the sound and technical characteristics of the various instruments I am writing for. This attitude sometimes calls for adjustments of my musical thinking - which is also an exciting facet of the compositional process. (2006)
